BlūMorpho
Our smallest radio tag yet
Track Some of Earth's Smallest Animals
The BlūMorpho tag is the lightest-weight radio tracking tag on the market, weighing in at 60 milligrams. That is 0.06 grams—less than a grain of rice.
The BlūMorpho tag is ideal for very small birds, butterflies, bees, and other insects.
This tag's 100% solar, no-battery design means no worries about battery life—these small-but-mighty tags can transmit indefinitely!
The BlūMorpho tag makes use of the 2.4 GHz frequency range, making the antenna small and highly efficient. The tag is compatible with most smartphones (and will also be with the Motus Wildlife Tracking System). Using the CTT Mobile app allows users to detect tags, and there are even applications to enable crowdsourcing of data. The Project Monarch app is a prime example of this use case.
Use the BlūMorpho tag in conjunction with CTT Nodes to pinpoint the location of a tag within a study area, or add a BlūSeries Receiver to an existing SensorStation so your station can receive 2.4 GHz BlūSeries tags. Additionally, the CTT Sidekick can receive detections from BlūSeries tags.
