CODED DIGITAL RADIO PRODUCTS
Working closely with Bird Studies Canada and current Motus users, CTT has developed a line of Motus compatible radio tags and receivers to enable the global expansion of the Motus Wildlife Tracking System and enable researchers to track even the smallest wildlife across vast landscapes in the most cost-effective way possible. While our products can be used as stand-alone research tools, our seamless integration with the Motus network means that you can integrate your data and monitoring stations with the Motus servers more simply and securely than ever before.
Capture Detailed Movement Data on the Smallest of Animals, with No Battery Required!
CTT LifeTagsTM and PowerTagsTM provide multiple seasons of tracking in an extremely small package: as light as 0.35g. CTT tags are fully Motus compatible and can last for many seasons and years during a single deployment. When combined with CTT Nodes or VultureNetTM, CTT tags can provide high-resolution movement data on even the smallest animals.
Motus Compatible Digital ID Radio Tags
One frequency with no battery! Transmits up to every 2 seconds with a digital ID over many kilometers. Each ID is globally unique, with over 4 billion combinations. The LifeTag was created to operate for the entire life of the animal you are tracking. Solar panel is self optimizing and works in heavy shade. Weights as low as 0.45g.
PowerTag works the same as the LifeTag, but with a battery. PowerTag is ideal for studies where sunlight is not available, such as nocturnal animals and some aquatic species. Its unique battery design offers a very long lifetime and comes with configurable intervals and power settings. Weights as low as 0.35g.
Motus Compatible Digital Receivers
The CTT SensorStation can detect LifeTags and PowerTags using five dedicated 434MHz radios for directional and omnidirectional antennas. 7 USB ports offer plug- and-play with SDR dongles to connect 166MHz antennas, and optional 915MHz ULR radios add additional telemetry opportunities. CTT SensorStations offer optional cellular connectivity. SensorStations can also receive signals from CTT Nodes to further localize the 434MHz signal. SensorStations come standard with the Motus Open Source SensorGnome software and are ready for deployment on the Motus Wildlife Tracking System.
Unique to CTT, the CTT Node localizes LifeTag and PowerTag detections. Post- processing yields a gold mine of data, that until now has been impossible to capture and document. An array of CTT Nodes can provide thousands of positions for even our smallest of tags. CTT Nodes are solar powered with an internal battery and relay detection information to the CTT Base Station at a regular interval.
CTT has revolutionized the way to locate radio tags. The CTT Locator lets you use your smart phone to detect nearby tags with a handheld Yagi antenna. Gone are the days of confusing tones, frequency management, and missed tag signals. CTT Locator works with LifeTags and PowerTags.
